9/19/2023 0 Comments Keystone safariAs the Living Treasures Park grew attendance, staffing, and animal population, it became apparent several years ago that a new facility would be needed. The new park opens after 13 consecutive years of growth at the Guihers’ Living Treasures Park in New Castle. The new 144 acre Grove City facility provides spacious new housing and habitats for many species. Both parks are owned by the Guiher Family. Several animals including the rare Barbary Lions and local celebrities- Levi, Blue Jeans and Calvin, the parks’ giraffe family, have moved to Keystone Safari from Living Treasures Wild Animal Park in New Castle. There are several other babies and new faces to meet including Harley and Joker the one-year-old hyenas, Calvin the one-year-old Giraffe calf, black bears, several reindeer calves, and many others. The Safari bus ride will tour larger areas of the park and is expected to open before the end of Summer.Ĭurrently, the well-known Lion family, June and Cash, have a new family member, “Nala,” a four-month-old lion cub born to the pair this Summer. The zip-line adventure park, including a beginner and intermediate family course, will be open in early Spring. Other activities will be offered when the park opens again in the spring of 2019. The park will have several seasonal attractions available now through early January, including large-scale holiday lighting displays, family photos with sleigh and live reindeer, and camel rides. Feeding and interactive experiences with several species are available with the purchase of a general admission ticket and feed for the animals is offered at three stations around the park. There are several outdoor exhibits to check out on the way between the main buildings and heated areas. Visitors now can enjoy several indoor heated areas including the Gift Shop, Reindeer Barn, and Giraffe Barn. Please refer to the Rules and Waivers page for general or activity specific rules.After nearly four years of permitting, design, and construction, Keystone Safari is open to the general public for the first time. Participants will enter the Safari at their own risk. The Friends of the Bantam Jeep Association and Keystone Safari are not responsible for damage to any Jeeps caused by animals. Note: these rules apply only for Jeeps participating in the Jeep Safari during the timed sessions listed above. Topless Jeeps are welcome (hard tops and soft tops are NOT required). Young and old alike will love the experience!įull doors, half doors or tube doors ARE required. Keystone Safari is offering a special Bantam package for our participants that includes admission for up to five passengers, two food pails to feed the animals, an exclusive stock-friendly drive around the pond and an exclusive animal encounter after the drive-thru. New in 2023, we will be offering a fun activity with Keystone Safari! Participants will travel in groups through the drive-thru safari and see up to 100 animals from 25 different species up close and personal. The Safari is a 20 minute drive from Coopers Lake Campground. * This activity will stage and take place at Keystone Safari, 2284 Mercer Butler Pike, Grove City, PA 16127.
